Event description:

Mr. DeChristopher is an environmental activist who first came to national attention when he was sentenced to two years in prison for protesting oil and gas lease auction on BLM lands. After serving his time, earned a Master’s of Divinity at Harvard. The story of the trial was made into the movie “Bidder 70” and you can find an interview with him here. Tim continues to be involved in in civil disobedience action to protest fossil fuel extraction, and works with the Climate Defense Project and Peaceful Uprising, among other groups.
Tim visited FES last year, and is an incredible speaker, especially about the emotional burden of climate change and the relationship between the climate movement and other social justice movements.
