7th Annual Graduate Conference in Religion and Ecology will address “Earth’s Lamentation”

February 6, 2023
Registration for the 7th Annual Graduate Conference in Religion and Ecology (GCRE), held on March 3rd, 2023 at Yale Divinity School, is now open! The GCRE is an interdisciplinary conference jointly hosted by Yale Divinity School and Yale School of the Environment. This year, GCRE will highlight a spectrum of voices within the emerging field of religion and ecology at the upcoming conference, “Earth’s Lamentation: Ecological Grief and the Paradox of Hope,” which invites participants to consider the necessity of lamentation and the complexity of hope in the face of climate change.

GCRE will host 25 graduate student presenters from institutions across the globe, a pop-up gallery of artistic submissions, creative workshops, and a panel of local interfaith leaders. The organizers are also excited to welcome Dr. Cláudio Carvalhaes, Associate Professor of Worship at Union Theological Seminary, as keynote speaker.
