The Americanist Colloquium invites you to hear Professor Stephanie Foote (West Virginia U) present her talk, “The Life-Changing Garbage of Tidying Up,” next Thursday, April 6, at 5:30pm on zoom. Professor Foote asks: Where does an object go after we have thrown it away? How can thinking about garbage help us understand the overlapping affective and material economies that govern the circulation of unwanted objects in contemporary culture? The talk will be followed by open discussion, and we encourage anyone interested to join.
