Event description:
The Yale Program of Agrarian Studies is inaugurating film series focused on agrarian-themed films and is kicking off the series by welcoming Italian-American director Maria Giménez Cavallo to campus to screen her recent feature-length film, Anime galleggianti (Wandering Souls, 2024, runtime of 71 minutes). The film depicts a cinematic adaptation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, narrated through the landscapes and regional traditions of Sardinia, Italy. Screening followed by a short talk from the director and a Q&A/discussion with the audience.
