Scott V. Edwards (Harvard University), “Bicycling, Birding and #BLM across America in a Summer of Chaos” (Yale Peabody Musuem)

Join Scott V. Edwards as he recounts his experiences from this summer when he undertook a 76-day, ~3800 mile bicycle trip across the United States from the Atlantic to the Pacific oceans. In wheeling his way through towns on the brink of collapse, Native American lands, and vast private ranches, Edwards encountered extraordinary people, landscapes, and birds. But more than that, he was able to witness people’s reactions to #BlackLivesMatter and other pressing issues. In this talk he will talk about what his journey taught him about the forces causing division in this country and what we can do in order to mend them.
