Event description:

Morocco’s eastern region, with its arid desert climate, is home to the country’s last nomadic populations. These tribes, including the Bni Guild, have adapted to new social and technological challenges to remain nomads in the 21st century. The use of mobile telephones has proved to be one of their greatest allies in remaining in this hard and inhospitable territory. Pablo Vidal is professor of cultural anthropology at Universidad Católica de Valencia, Spain, and a Visiting Fellow at CLAIS.
