Event description: 
Mari Jarris is a dual Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Comparative Literature at Princeton University and the Institute of German Literature at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her research areas include Marxism, queer and feminist theory, environmental humanities, and nineteenth- and twentieth-century German and Russian literature. She is completing her dissertation entitled “Utopia, Aesthetics & Gender: Queer Currents in Revolutionary Russia and Germany, 1860s-1920s.” She has received research grants from the Fulbright Commission, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), American Councils, and the Coalition of Women in German. Her work has appeared in Feminist German Studies and the Russian-language collection, N. G. Chernyshevsky: Articles, Research and Materials and her translations have been published by New German Critique and the Wilhelm Fink Verlag.
