Event description: 

Leif will give a talk on maps of the Blackfeet Reservation (1907-1912), which are held in the Beinecke Library and document the implementation of the Dawes Severalty Act of 1887. This talk will address issues of moral geography, human ecology, settler colonialism, environmental justice, land use law, and epistemology. Leif’s talk builds on his article published in Paprika Magazine which can be found here.
