The English Institute to host its 80th symposium, “Catastrophe,” in New Haven

What does it mean to live through catastrophe? The English Institute will host its 80th Annual Meeting on September 22-23, 2023 at Yale, convening English and literature faculty and graduate students from across the country to explore the semantic, social, and artistic understandings of disaster–unearthing, in the process, what might come after.  Presentations will range widely from Caravaggio’s works to feminist theory.
