Event description:
The Soviet Poster series brings together
faculty and students to discuss select
posters from a collection of over 1,000
Soviet-era objects recently gifted to
the Yale University Art Gallery by Allan
Chasanoff, B.A. 1961.
Drawing on the academic diversity of
the Program in Russian, East European,
and Eurasian Studies (REEES) and
arts communities at Yale, these con-
versations seek to inspire new and

interdisciplinary ways of thinking about
the signifcance of the poster, both
in and beyond the contexts of Soviet
media, history, and politics.
