Doug Kysar is Deputy Dean and Joseph M. Field ’55 Professor of Law at Yale Law School, abd the faculty Co-Director of the Law, Ethics & Animals Program (LEAP) at Yale Law School. In this lunch-hour presentation, he will speak about Terry Thompson, who committed suicide in October 2011 after cutting open the cages of fifty-six exotic animals on his farm in Zanesville, Ohio. Through an examination of the events leading to Thompson’s suicide and release of his animals, Professor Kysar will discuss theoretical underpinnings of property rights, stewardship of animal life, and social organization in regulated societies. 

This presentation will take place over the lunch hour, from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.
