The Arts Council of Greater New Haven,  the City of New Haven Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Connecticut Audubon Society and the Yale School of the Environment and the Franke Program in Science and the Humanities present Observing the Observer—Christian Cooper in conversation with Robert Lamothe at Sheffield-Sterling-Strathcona Hall on April 4 at 6:30pm. This event is free and open to the public with registration on Eventbrite. Christian Cooper is an American science writer, editor and author of Better Living Through Birding—Notes from a Black Man in the Natural World. Cooper is host and producer of Extraordinary Birder on National Geographic. As a writer for Marvel Comics, Cooper created the first gay human character in Star Trek history, Yoshi Mishima, for the series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy,” and Marvel Comics’ first openly lesbian character, the dark magic expert Victoria Montesi. He serves on the Board of Directors of NYC Audubon.
