Professor Cajetan Iheka joins Yale English, Environmental Humanities

Yale Environmental Humanities is very happy to welcome Cajetan Iheka, who joins the Yale English Department this year as Associate Professor. Professor Iheka comes to Yale by way of the University of Alabama, after completing his PhD at Michigan State University. His research interests include African and Caribbean literature and film, ecocriticism, ecomedia and world literatures. His book  Naturalizing Africa: Ecological Violence, Agency, and Postcolonial Resistance in African Literature was released in 2018 with Cambridge University Press, and won the 2019 Ecocriticism Book Award of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment. This semester, Professor Iheka is teaching two undergraduate courses: “Postcolonial Ecologies,” and “Readings in Comparative World Literatures.”
