Meera Subramanian is a US-based journalist who writes about culture and the environment for newspapers and magazines around the world.  She is the author of A River Runs Again: India’s Natural World in Crisis, from the Barren Cliffs of Rajasthan to the Farmlands of Karnataka (2015).

In 2019-2020, Subramanian will be the Currie C. and Thomas A. Barron Visiting Professor in the Environment and the Humanities at Princeton University.

Subramanian’s visit is co-sponsored by the Poynter Fellowship, South Asian Studies Council, Program in Agrarian Studies, and Yale Environmental Humanities.
