Event description:

Lindgren Johnson, author of Race Matters, Animal Matters, and Syl Ko, co-author (with Aph Ko) of Aphro-ism: Essays on Pop Culture, Feminism, and Black Veganism, became friends in 2017, the year both books were published. Johnson, a professor at University of Virginia, and Ko, an independent researcher, enjoy a shared interest in exploring the racial underpinnings concerning ideas of humanity and animality in the context of reimagining veganism.
