Event time:

Location:
Yale Center for British Art, Third-Floor Galleries (1080 Chapel Street) See map
Event description:

Join us in the galleries for this “Beyond Britain” talk on an artwork that highlights the global histories in the YCBA. Hannibal de Pencier is a PhD candidate in Yale’s department of the history of art. He will explore how William Daniell’s The Indian Rhinoceros conveys both the excitement of a chance encounter and the authority of close observation, presenting its unfamiliar subject as at once distant and convincingly known.
